Overcoming Challenges in Hilly Terrain

While the project was a tremendous opportunity to contribute to Okhaldhunga’s educational landscape, it was not without its challenges. The district’s mountainous terrain presented several logistical and operational hurdles:
1. Accessibility Issues:
Many school sites were in remote areas without proper roads. In some cases, we had to construct roads just to transport construction materials to the sites.
2. Harsh Weather Conditions:
The winter season, particularly in areas like Patale, brought heavy snowfall, making construction nearly impossible. Roads were often blocked by snow, forcing us to use donkeys and porters to deliver materials.
3. Landslides: The hilly terrain was prone to landslides, which frequently disrupted transportation and delayed work schedules. Despite these adversities, our team remained resilient, demonstrating remarkable dedication and teamwork to ensure the project’s success.
